If two decades ago Prof. Danilo Doneda was to dig the foundations of the right to personal data protection on Brazilian soil, the mission that Dr. Gabriel Zanatta Tocchetto assumes today is to defend its walls in the most advanced era of automation. Thus, this work raises the question: is the right to the protection of personal data effective when the basic right to access one's personal data is withheld? In the Datatified Society, the reality is that almost every person's action, be it walking down the street, accessing social networks, playing online, shopping, studying remotely, working from home, making a teleconsultation, all of this is transformed into digital inputs that are used to predict behavior and target advertising. Therefore, once the data is produced, either access to this personal data and related rights are guaranteed, or this reality of obscurity intensifies in which individuals, who generate personal data through their behaviors, become raw material and final consumers of Surveillance Capitalism. - From the afterword by Diogo Dal Magro
